Consumer / Customer Privacy and How it Affects You

OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU

As a community-oriented bank, Amboy Bank is committed to your financial well being.  Protecting the privacy and security of the information you share with us is integral to that commitment.  You trust us with your personal financial information, and we honor that trust by handling your information discretely and sensibly.  If you ever have questions or concerns about the integrity of your account information, or any other aspect of our business operations, please do not hesitate to telephone or come in to talk to our staff.
This notice will help you understand how we safeguard and use information.

PROTECTING INFORMATION THROUGH ESTABLISHED SECURITY PROCEDURES

Amboy Bank continually updates and improves its security standards and procedures to protect against unauthorized access to your confidential information, including information obtained through the Internet. To guard your non-public personal information, we maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards.
Only those individuals who need to do so as part of their job responsibilities are authorized to access your information.  We regularly train our employees on privacy and information security, and on their obligations to safeguard your information.  In keeping with our commitment to protect your privacy, employees who violate these Privacy Principles are subject to disciplinary measures.
You can help us safeguard your personal information by taking a few simple precautions.  Protect your account and PIN numbers and never disclose confidential information to unknown callers.  When banking on the Internet, use a secure browser and current virus detection software, and do not open e-mail from unknown sources.

UTILIZING INFORMATION TO BETTER SERVE YOU

As you transact your banking business, we gather information about account balances, payment histories, loan repayments, credit or debit card purchasing information, and collection and servicing information.  We use this information to maintain accurate account balance information, to provide efficient customer service, and to identify other products or services that may be of value to you.
When you fill out an application or open an account, we may ask for information such as your address, telephone number, e-mail address, social security number, as well as credit information such as income and employment.  We may also ask for non-transactional information including where you work, your income and your investment goals.  We use this information when evaluating your eligibility for loans and other services and to help identify products and services that may be of interest to you.

When you apply for credit or other products, we may obtain other information about you from other sources such as consumer reporting agencies (commonly called credit bureaus). The same holds true when we review or monitor your accounts for collection.  We use this information to assist us in determining your eligibility for products.
When you use our on-line products and services, we may collect transaction information or customer contact information for use in personalizing our online services to better serve you.  For a more detailed description of our online information policies, visit us at www.amboybank.com.
