Cybersecurity Awareness Month

October 5, 2022
Every October marks the National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, an effort to bring heightened scrutiny to preventing and guarding against cyberthreats to organizations and individuals. With the sharp increase in cyber-related crimes, there are plenty of safety tips to best protect your devices and identity, but experts continue to stress the importance of simply being aware of your own daily practices. Today, the highest frequency of cyberattacks are related to malware and phishing, which include tactics like deceptive emails and text messages and fake websites. Paying attention to misspelled contact information, subject lines and body copy are clear indicators of often-used phishing scams. When in doubt, never click on links, open email attachments or reply to the email in question.
